Itar
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are U.S. government rules that control the export and import of defense-related articles, services, and technical data listed on the U.S. Munitions List (USML). Administered by the Department of State, ITAR requires manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense items to register and comply with strict controls around who can access and handle sensitive materials. ITAR prohibits sharing regulated information with non-U.S. persons without authorization, including via cloud storage or remote access. Violations can result in severe civil and criminal penalties, making compliance critical for companies in defense and related industries.
